Age Strikes
Peaceful Reflections
I walk the golden meadows
In the dawning chill
And watch the sun’s appearance
Far beyond the hills
I lie upon the hill side
Where beauty abounds
And dream of the days gone by
On the dew drenched ground
Many days have passed me by
With no respect of life
And showed the age upon my face
From fifty-two years of strife
Gazing at the dotted sky
Day retreats to night
Wishing on a falling star
As it drops from sight
World peace is my only wish
As we are at war
Grant no mother’s son die young
Let us fight no more
